The incident sparked widespread discussion, with netizens both curious about the feasibility of the operation and expressing sympathy for the merchants and employees. After its limited-edition merchandise event, Nayuki cleared stock at low prices, and fans who bought the bundles cried foul.
Nayuki's official shop recently sold last year's co-branded limited-edition merchandise for 5.9 yuan with free shipping, including Powerpuff Girls fridge magnets, sparking strong dissatisfaction among consumers who had originally bought designated set meals to obtain the merchandise. Some store employees even revealed that some expired merchandise could be obtained for free without any purchase, simply by checking in and writing a positive review. On one side, fans who spent money on set meals feel let down; on the other, the brand is turning inventory into free gifts or selling it at low prices to avoid waste. Regarding how limited-edition merchandise is handled after a campaign ends, consumer opinions are clearly divided—some support clearing out stock, while others worry that bargain hunters exploiting loopholes could affect future collaborations. Coffee has always maintained a low profile on KFC's menu, yet it has unexpectedly become a daily choice for a group of middle-aged consumers. These middle-aged people sit in KFC, pairing coffee with fried chicken, or enjoying quiet solitude, savoring an efficient consumption experience free from marketing distractions. 1DianDian No Longer Allows Removing Tea Base: A2 Milk Costs, Store Rules, and the Dilemma for Caffeine-Sensitive Consumers
The Binglang incident has made milk tea consumers especially wary of ingredients such as non-dairy creamer and base milk, while 1 Dian Dian, having long used A2 milk to make its drinks, is seen as a breath of fresh air in the industry. Recently, however, many regular customers have noticed that stores no longer accept "remove the tea base" requests in the notes. Why was this thoughtful service, originally designed to accommodate caffeine-sensitive groups such as pregnant women and children, suddenly discontinued? Behind it lie milk consumption costs, store operating standards, and contractual constraints with suppliers. Can Bring-Your-Own-Cup Discounts Really Attract Consumers? Exploring Why Coffee Lovers Still Prefer Disposable Cups
Bringing your own cup to buy drinks at coffee shops has become an eco-friendly habit for some consumers, and chain brands such as Starbucks and Manner have long offered BYO cup discounts to encourage reducing single-use cup usage. However, in reality, it seems that not many people truly stick to bringing their own cups, and the tables in coffee shops are still dominated by takeaway cups. Why are consumers not buying into BYO cup discounts? Some value saving money but give up because the discounts cannot be stacked; some pursue efficiency and feel that bringing their own cup actually wastes time; others encounter troubles such as capacity mismatch, forgetting to bring the cup, or the cup having an odor. Although bringing your own cup causes many inconveniences, for long-term coffee drinkers, the money saved can buy a few more cups, and some even pass off disposable cups as their own, leaving baristas not knowing whether to laugh or cry. Front Street Coffee reminds us that the environmental friendliness and cost savings of bringing your own cup still need to find a balance with convenience. [more…]
Front Street Bean Hunters' Notes: A Complete Analysis of the Flavor and Roasting of Nicaragua Los Congos Estate Villa Sarchi Natural Coffee
Although Nicaragua is not as well-known as other Central American countries, it possesses high-altitude shade-growing conditions and fertile volcanic soil that are no less impressive. The Villa Sacchi natural bean from Los Congos Estate, sourced this time by Front Street Coffee, comes from the Nueva Segovia region, at an altitude of 1,350 to 1,650 meters, SHG grade. The estate insists on self-sufficiency and organic cultivation, and its Pacamara once won runner-up in the COE. This Bourbon varietal bean, after natural processing, presents intertwined flavors of floral notes, citrus, berries, cream, and peanut, with a full and balanced mouthfeel. Front Street Coffee's roaster adopted a lower bean-charging temperature with a medium flame that gradually decreases, developing for 1 minute and 50 seconds after first crack, and dropping at 195°C, performing excellently in both cupping and pour-over. Chagee's seventh anniversary singing-for-free promotion sparks controversy: stores mandatorily record videos, raising consumers' privacy concerns
To celebrate its seventh anniversary, Chagee launched a seven-day giveaway of 700,000 free drinks, and the singing-for-a-free-drink option, being the easiest to participate in, quickly attracted deal hunters. However, after the second round began, customers found that getting the free voucher was not so simple: some stores required two people to sing together and clink cups, some staff outright denied the promotion existed, and even more surprisingly, many participants were filmed or recorded throughout by staff, a requirement not disclosed in advance in the official tweets. Customer service responded that the event was held precisely for filming, and internal notices also required photos of every singing customer to be kept on file. This practice sparked concerns about how customers' personal images would be used, and although several staff members said the content was only uploaded to internal work groups for supervisors to review, the privacy controversy continues to grow. Coffee Estates and Cooperatives: Operational Differences and Selection Logic of Two Cultivation Models
In the upstream segment of the coffee industry chain, estates and cooperatives are the two most common forms of growing organizations. The two differ significantly in decision-making mechanisms, profit distribution, market bargaining power, and daily operations. Understanding these differences helps coffee enthusiasts gain a deeper understanding of the production logic behind the cup of coffee in their hands. Front Street Coffee has always paid attention to the diverse ecosystems at the origin end, and this article will systematically sort out the respective characteristics and applicable scenarios of estates and cooperatives.
